Calling all Western Australian creatives! Temp is running an exhibition that YOU can be a part of!

Any artist is welcome – amateur, hobbyist, professional or retired, and any medium on card is accepted. The subject? Whatever inspires you.

This is a playful exhibition designed to pair artists with the new collector art market, creating a fun, vibrant and affordable opportunity for early buyers, and for artists to reach new and broader audiences.

The brief is as simple as you can imagine – sign up! Once you’ve registered, we will send through an artist pack to you by mail, which will include 2 x A5 cards on which you can make your work. Artworks, of any medium as long as they are on the cards, are returned by prepaid envelope to us.

Your work will then be hung in the 200 Exhibition, running from April 24th – May 10th at a secret venue in the Town of Vic Park, to be revealed closer to the opening date. Each work will be available for sale in the exhibition for $200.

The earlier you register, the sooner we can send you an artist pack, and the sooner you can create your masterpieces for the inaugural 200 exhibition – we can’t wait to see your works!

FAQs

  • Registration opens: 24th February

    Registration closes: 15th March

  • After registering, your artist pack will be posted out to you within 5 working days (likely sooner rather than later). Average times for postage:

    Perth metro ~2 days

    Country WA 2-5 days

    Remote country WA 4-6 days

    The sooner you register, the sooner you will receive your artist pack, and the sooner you can get to work on your pieces!

  • Any medium is accepted so long as it can applied to the supplied card. More bulky mediums need to consider that their work may be damaged in the postage if not adequately protected. If the standard return post envelope is insufficient to protect the artwork then additional measures are at the cost of the artist.   • Each artist will be supplied with 2 x A5 cards in their artist pack, and can therefore submit 1 or 2 artworks.

  • All artworks submitted by the due date will be hung in the exhibition.

  • Financials:

    Each artwork will be sold for $200 to the purchaser. Of this $200, a 15% commission fee will be paid to Temp to cover some material costs and exhibition fees. The artist will receive $170 following the sale of their work.

    Broader Opportunity:

    In addition to aforementioned payment for the sale of work, and the joy of participating in an inclusive community art event, the primary gain for an artist entering 200 is the exposure of their work to a broad audience in a well-advertised and exciting community art event. This is an opportunity to share not only exhibited art, but broader bodies of work (via QR codes with links to artists’ online platforms) with new collectors, and established industry personnel likely to attend the event. We hope to facilitate events around mentorship, industry expertise for emerging artists, and hold a large opening event which will be a great opportunity to meet peers and industry.

  • Opening night on the 12th of April, 5 - 7pm is open to all. Subscribe the newsletter or submit your work to ensure you recieve an email with the secret location!

  • 200 will be held at a yet to be disclosed location in Vic Park from April 12th - 28th.

  • The artworks will be available for purchase on site from the opening of the exhibition. They will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

  • The artworks will remain on exhibition until the completion on the exhibition until the 28th of April. This is to maximise the visibility and exposure of our incredible WA artists. Artwork will be available for postage or pick up following completion of the exhibition on the 28th of April.

  • Unsold work will be returned to the artist via post following the completion of the exhibition.
